Dr. Herman Brooks Fullen, Jr. of Mt Lake Estates in Newport, departed this life Sunday morning, August 7, 2016 at his home in the loving care of his family and hospice. Born in Beaumont, Texas on February 18, 1933, he was the son of the late Herman Brooks ,Sr, and Katherine Frances Hugus Fullen. He was a veteran of the U S Army, Korean Conflict, a member of Northside Presbyterian Church in Blacksburg, earned his Phd. In education and taught ages pre-school through college. He was preceded in death by his son Jonathan Brooks Fullen.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife Patricia Barnett Fullen; his daughter Rebecca Frances Savering of South Boston, VA; and his grandchildren Emma Grace Savering, Atticus Fox Savering, and Rhys Ana Savering.
