Howard George Brugh, 78, of Pembroke, departed this life Sunday evening, September 16, 2012 at Riverview Nursing Home in Rich Creek. Born in Ripplemead on January 28, 1934, he was a son of the late Clyde and Nannie Sue Merrix Brugh. He was employed as a Master Mason in the building industries. Preceding him in death are his parents, his daughter Kimberly Brugh and his sons Marshall and Cullen Brugh.

He leaves to cherish his memory his son Martin Brugh of Blacksburg and his sister Esther Hunley of Martinsville, his seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 pm in the Fillinger Cemetery at Pembroke. The family will receive friends at the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke Wednesday from 11:30 until 1:30 before the services. Online condolences may be sent by visiting kendallfuneralhome.com.
