Obituary

One of God's Angels on earth passed away peacefully in her sleep early Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at the age of 87. She will be met at heavens gate by the multitude of family and loved ones that she loved and cared for during her time on earth, and escorted to her place of honor by God's side. She was born Irma Lucille Snidow on September 18, 1921 in Putney, WV to the late William Easley and Mable Snidow. Lucille was extremely proud and dedicated to her Snidow Family heritage, who were among the first settlers in Giles County. She was married to Roulet Miller Collins and began her long career of mother and loving caretaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Marybelle Caldwell and Eileen Ward, a brother William Snidow and her husband. She was a member of Pembroke Christian Church and the Pembroke Woman's Club.



Lucille was a mother of six children but a Mom to many more. Left brokenhearted and to cherish her memory are her children Bonnie and Scott Osborne of Fairmont, WV, Betty and Jimmy Peck of Pearisburg, Diane and Willis Riggs of Pearisburg, Wayne and Janice Gautier Collins of Shawsville, Douglas and Mary Martin Collins of Narrows, Donnie and Doretta Riddle Collins of Pembroke her grandchildren Wayne, Mike, Tina, Donna, Steven, Melanie, Lakin, Miller, Stephanie, Travis ,Sharon, and Teresa; seventeen great-grandchilden and a great-great-grandson



Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with burial following in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6 to 8 PM. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to The Snidow Family Fund, in care of Pat Duncan, Tr., 3305 First Avenue, Belle, WV 25015.
