James Smith Collins, 76 of Blacksburg, Virginia departed this life April 9, 2023 in the care of Lewis Gale Hospital-Montgomery.  Born in Virginia on July 14, 1946 he was a son of the late Charles and Virginia Sadler Collins.

James loved his life and his family first.  James provided for his family as a truck driver with Giles County PSA.  He also enjoyed mechanic work, camping, and yard work.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Leroy Collins, and Charles Collins; and sister, Sally Ryan.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Virginia Collins; son, James Collins (Odessa) of Blacksburg; daughter Ashley Collins (Heather) of Shawsville, VA; grandchildren, Jacob Collins, Amelia Collins, and Lucy Collins; step-grandson, Garrett Harris; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, April 14, 2023 at 1:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Scott Openchain officiating.  The family will receive friends on Friday, April 14, 2023 from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel.  A guestbook is available to send condolences by visiting www.kendallfuneralhome.com .  The staff of Kendall Funeral Home are honored to serve the Collins family.
