James Michael Combs, 40, of Kerr Lane, Eggleston departed this life Saturday, June 9, 2012 at his home after a battle with cancer. Born in Pearisburg on June 1, 1972, he is the son of Ronald A. Combs of Pembroke and Dorothy Whittaker Vault and step-son of Mark Vaught of Eggleston. He was a graduate of Giles High School and had been employed with Mt. Lake Hotel and Holiday Inn in Blacksburg. He was preceded in death by a sister Matilda Whittaker.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his parents; his wife Cynthia Dawn Lee Combs of Pearisburg; his children J J Combs, Angel Combs, and other children; his step-sons Big Nate Lee of Roanoke and Thomas Lee of Mississippi; his sister Sherry and her husband Roy Albert of Pearisburg; his mother and father-in-law Bruce and Joyce Webb of Roanoke; his special friends Angel Lafon, Joe Williams, Anissa Ethington; his special neice Barbie Whittaker and a host of other beloved nieces and nephews; his special counselors Kendall, Sara C., Laura R. and Dave Rowe; his four footed furry friends Rusty, Rascal, Mitch, Louie and Reesie.
