James Nelson Kessinger, 48, of Goldbond died Thursday, May 12, 2011. He was born in Pearisburg on May 23, 1962, a son of James Ronnie "Runt" Kessinger and the late Lillie Mae Farley Kessinger of Interior. He had been employed in the building construction trades.

He is survived by his father, James Ronnie "Runt" Kessinger, his sister and brother-in-law Terry and David Martin of Interior; his daughter Brooke Cornett of Wytheville; and his special friend and companion Patsy Thompson of Goldbond.

The family will receive friends at the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke Sunday evening from 5 until 7 pm. A graveside service will be conducted Monday at 11 am in the Kessinger Family Cemetery at Interior. Online condolences may be sent by visiting kendallfuneralhome.com.
