James Michael "Mike" Lucas, 67 of Blacksburg, VA departed this life July 14, 2022 at his home.  Born in Giles County, VA on July 16, 1954, he was a son of the late Arnold and Nancy Duncan Lucas.

Mike served his country in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sargent.  He later served his community delivering gas with Valley Propane. In his spare time, Mike enjoyed antique dealing with his wife, Martha, motorcycles, and old cars.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Gloria Ann Bostic Lucas; and brothers, George, Jennings, and Corky Lucas.

Left to cherish his memory to their hearts are his wife, Martha Surface Lucas of 10 years; children, Billy Lucas (Ashley) of North Carolina, Cody Lucas of Narrows, and Bobby Lucas of Narrows; step-children, Jason Shepherd (Angie) of Blacksburg, and Christy Mullins (Bernie) of Blacksburg; grandchildren, Dacoda Lucas, Benjamin Wilson, Samantha Mullins, Dustin Mullins, Cash Shepherd, and Piper Shepherd; his mother-in-law, Mary Jane Surface; Crystal Ann McCallister to whom he loved like a daughter; a special niece, Dena Puckett and fiancée, Brock; special cousin, Pauline Phillips; special friends, Charlie Buracker, John Spaur, Tim Dalton, and Glenn Miller; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other friends.

A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, July 18, 2022 at 1:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jimmy Price officiating.  Funeral Services will conclude with military honors in the Levi Mary Jane Surface Cemetery in Blacksburg, VA.  The family will receive friends in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, July 18, 2022 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.  A guestbook is available by visiting www.kendallfuneralhome.com .  The staff of Kendall Funeral Home are honored to serve the Lucas family.
