Montgomery, James Stanley

Stan Montgomery, 56, passed away suddenly at his home in Pembroke, VA on April 23rd. He was preceded in death by his parents, James E. and Hazel Walkup Montgomery and is survived by his sister Kim (Dave) Kohman, brothers John (Sharie) Montgomery, Mike (Nancy) Montgomery, niece Katie, nephews Matt, Ryan, Patrick and Ian.We would like to extend a thank you to his special friends Kevin, Christy, Noah and Sarah Jones,and to Stan's wonderful friends and co-workers from The Inn at Virginia Tech, where he was employed.

Stan was also known in the NRV area for his custom stone work. He loved Giles County and all the natural beauty it offers. He loved the Pembroke Library, kids, animals and biking. But his passion was gardening, and he could grow anything. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Giles Animal Rescue PO Box 354, Pearisburg, VA 24134. A celebration of life will be held from 3-5pm on Saturday, May 11th at The Inn at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg.
