James Edward "Petie" Collins Sr, 77 of Staffordsville, VA departed this life April 6, 2022 in the loving care of his family.  Born February 1, 1945 in Giles County, VA he was a son of the late Minor and Virginia Bailey Collins.

Petie took pride in his work and the care of his family.

In addition to his parents, Petie is preceded in death by his brothers, Douglas, Arnold, Marshall, and Charles Collins; and a sister, Shirley Collins.

Left to cherish his memory to their hearts are his wife of 56 years, Susan Bailey Collins; sons, Johnny Collins (Shelly) of Wytheville, and James Collins Jr. (Angie) of Pembroke; daughter, Corinna Williams (Curtis) of Pembroke; 7 grandchildren (including one granddaughter who he treated as his own, Felicia Merrix and her fiancé Logan of Staffordsville); 17 great-grandchildren; a great-great grandson, Elijah; and a sister, Joyce Ann Collins of Christiansburg, VA.

There will be a funeral service conducted on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 7:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating.  Family will receive friends at Kendall Funeral Home Chapel on April 9, 2022 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.  A guestbook is available by visiting www.kendallfuneralhome.com .  The staff of Kendall Funeral Home are honored to serve the Collins family.
