James Edward Ratcliff, Sr., 71, of Collins Ave. in Pembroke, departed this life Saturday, October 25, 2014 at his home in the loving care of his family and hospice. Born in Pembroke on January 5, 1943, he was a son of the late William and Lillian Dowdy Ratcliff. He was preceded in death by a brother, Millard Ratcliff.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Shirley Whittaker Ratcliff; his sons James E. Ratcliff, Jr and Kenneth D. Ratclilff all of Pembroke; his sister-in-law Dee and nieces Tina and Juanita all of Roanoke.

Memorial services will be conducted at the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke at 7 pm on Thursday evening October 30, 2014. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until7 pm before the services. Online condolences may be sent by visiting kendallfuneralhome.com.
