James Jackson Sarver, 81, of Eggleston Road near Pembroke departed this life Friday morning August 24, 2007 at Giles Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg. Born in Bluefield, WV on November 20, 1925, he was a son of the late Eula Mae Sarver Breeding and step-son of the late Bert Breeding, Sr. James was employed with the Town of Christiansburg as a heavy equipment operator and had been previously employed with Virginia Lime Co. at Kimballton. He was also preceded in death by an infant son Barry Sarver and a brother Bert Breeding, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife Effie Breeding Sarver; a son Larry J. Sarver and a daughter Penny L. Sarver both of the home and a sister China B. Gray of Crawfordsville, Florida.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 PM in The Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6 to 8 PM.
