James Herbert Shannon "Jimmie", 48, of Narrows died Thursday, October 30, 2008 at his home after battling with cancer. Born in Hampton, Virginia on April 13, 1960 he was a son of the late Carl and Betty Clemons Shannon and grandson of the late France Bruce and Lelia Ester Burton Shannon. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Johnny Shannon. He leaves to cherish his memory his sisters Ethel Shannon and Ester Shannon and his friends Averial Lee Ferrell and Paul Blankenship all of Narrows; his aunts Frances and Phillip Parcell of Rich Creek, Evelyn and Chuck Reedy of North Carolina. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, November 3, 2008 in Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with burial following in the Clemons Cemetery at Elgood, West Virginia. .
