Obituary

Janice Faye Glancy departed this life to be in her Heavenly Home January 13, 2021 in the care of South Roanoke Nursing Home. Born in Hamilton, Ohio on March 18, 1946, she was a daughter of the late James and Susan Wellman Porter.

Janice was a member of the Cedar Grove Church of Christ in Wolf Creek. She is remembered as a kind soul who loved her family, crafts, children, and to teach the children Bible Lessons in Sunday School.

She is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Brian Leo Glancy; brothers, John Porter and James Porter; sisters, Lucille Long, Geraldine Johnston, and Olive Pratt.

Left to cherish her memory to their hearts are her husband and sweetheart of 58 years, Henry Glancy; a daughter, Sherri Davidson (Mike) of Pembroke; grandchildren, Shawn Renee Aposik (Josh)of Wasilla, AK, Sierra Robertson (Andrew) of Ballard, WV, and Jordan Cole of Floyd, VA; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Linda White of Hamilton, Ohio.

There will be a funeral to celebrate the life she gave to those she loved held Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 6:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Harold Goins officiating. The family will receive friends at the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Saturday, January 16, 2021. She will be laid to rest at a dedication of the grave privately in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.kendallfuneralhome.com.
