Jarsh Charles Meredith "JC" or "Buddy", 77, of Pembroke departed this life Thursday evening September 20, 2007 at Montgomery Regional Hospital in Blacksburg. Born in Giles County on January 28, 1930 he was a son of the late Howard and Bessie Radford Meredith. JC was retired from VPI, was a member of Riverview Baptist Church, and loved his family, his friends and his coon hunting.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife Joyce Ann Meredith; a daughter and son-in-law Debbie and Sherman Early of Pearisburg; four sons and daughters-in-law Melvin and Joan Meredith of Blacksburg, Charles "Johnny" and Kathy Meredith of Poplar Hill, Tony "Tooter" Meredith of Pearisburg, David "Pep" Meredith of Pembroke; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; a sister Bea M. Conley of Narrows, a niece Barbara Gilmer of Narrows; and many good friends and relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with Pastor Shahn Wilburn and Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 5:30 to 8 PM.
