Jerry Glenn Dowdy, 59, of the Maybrook Community, Pembroke, departed this life at home, Thursday afternoon, October 17, 2013 in the loving care of his sisters and hospice. Born in Giles County on May 26, 1954 he was a son of the late William Marshall and Rosetta Breeding Dowdy. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Howard and Lawrence Dowdy. He was a graduate of Giles High School, class of 1973, and had been employed with the Giles County PSA before he was disabled.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sister Eloise D. Songer and her husband Steve of Songer Circle Newport , his twin sister Terry Dowdy of Pembroke, Michael Janney, who he thought of as his son, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with burial following in the Songer Family Cemetery off Mt. Lake Road, Newport.
