Jimmie Marcus Gillispie, 83, of Cascade Drive, Pembroke, departed this life Thursday morning, July 2, 2015 at Heritage Hall Rich Creek. Born in Pembroke on March 18, 1932, he was a son of the late Tom and Nellie Lucas Gillispie. He was preceded in death by his sisters Maxine McGuire, Nannie Gillispie, Irene Martin, Hazel Creasy, and Virginia Kanode and his brothers Harold, Billy, Frank, and Virgil Gillispie.

He is survived by one sister Avis Detamore of Pembroke and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke, with Pastors Chris Holmes and James Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the Fillinger Cemetery in Pembroke. The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours before the services.
