Jon Douglas (JD) Merrix, 40 of Pembroke, VA departed this life February 5, 2022 in the loving care of his family.  Born in Princeton, WV on April 19, 1981, he was a son of Shirley Mabry Gentry and the late David Merrix.

Jon is preceded in death by his father, David Merrix.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Rachel Raymond Merrix; his mother, Shirley Mabry Gentry and step-dad, Kip Gentry; son, Logan Merrix of Pembroke; daughters, Lacie Merrix of Pearisburg, and Lyndsey Akers of Pearisburg; and paternal grandmother, Naomi Merrix.
