Joseph David Carter, 31, of Christiansburg, departed this life to be with the Lord, Thursday, December 28, 2017, at his home. He was born on August 20, 1986 in Radford. Joe will be joining his father, Douglas Carter, his Maw and Paw Carter, his Papaw and Nanny Childress, and Kat Childress. He was a kind and loving soul who was enthusiastic about animals, cars, music, and technology. He was a very hard worker and also very strong in his faith.

He will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends, especially his mother, Rita Carter, his sister Amanda Hogberg and his brother-in-law Michael Hogberg, his brother DJ Carter, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He also leaves behind his dog and best friend Tiyo, and his cats, Venus, Winky, and Lucy.

Memorial services will be arranged at a later date. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The Montgomery County Animal Care and Adoption Center.
