Joseph Wayne Fletcher, 57, of Lindside, WV and formerly of Giles County, departed this life Friday morning, August 31, 2012 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke. Born in Narrows on December 17, 1954, he was a son of the late Mason Ivy and Virgie Carter Fletcher. He was a graduate of Narrows High School where he was the pole vault champion, and had worked for his brother Roy as a carpenter. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers James and Ronald Fletcher, his sisters Beatrice Robertson and Louise Baker.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Mary Fletcher of Union, WV; his brothers Roy Fletcher and Randall Fletcher of Narrows; his sisters Marie Robertson and Reba Mann of Pearisburg, and Doris Williams of Narrows; his ex-wife and mother of his daughter Debbie F. Woody; his step-children Becky, Wayne and Joe Jr. Dax; his companion and friend Rita Fortner.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, September 3, 2012, at 2:00 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with burial following in Angels Rest Memory Gardens at Narrows.
