Junior White Duncan, 84, of Newport, departed this life Wednesday afternoon, August 12, 2009 at Montgomery Regional Hospital in Blacksburg. He was born in Craig County on April 27, 1925, was a lifelong citizen of the area, and member of Level Green Christian Church , serving on the official board. Junior was a farmer and had been retired from RAAP in Radford. He was preceded in death by his mother Addie E. Hutchison and his wife Evelyn Long Duncan.

Junior's joy and knowledge of the outdoors was passed on to his sons, as well as his many friends, and everyone was as welcome at the breakfast table as they were spending the day in the field.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sons and daughters-in-law Davey Terry and Judith Duncan of Colonial Heights and Denny and Jeanette Duncan of Pearisburg; and four grandchildren Shaun, Richard, Evelyn, and Jonathan W. Duncan.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 PM in the Level Green Christian Church in Craig County with Pastor Mike Whitaker and Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in the Level Green Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke, Saturday evening from 6 to 8 PM.
