Lamer Douglas Martin, 76, of Pearisburg, departed this life Saturday morning, April 17, 2010 at Riverview Nursing Home in Rich Creek after a long illness. Born in Pembroke on January 27, 1934, he was a son of the late Ray Martin and Eva Nelson Martin Boles. He was retired from the Celanese Celco Plant at Narrows, and was a veteran of the U S Army. Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife Alberta Pyles Martin, his daughter Tracy Diane Rice, his brothers Frank, Pete, and Clinton Martin.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sons Stanley D. and wife Karen Martin of Myrtle Beach, SC and Jamie A. Martin of Pembroke; his grandchildren Matthew, Brandon, Hayley, and Ryne Martin , Scarlet Virginia Link, and Travis Rice; his sisters Mable Sinkus of OH, Eula Peters of Maryland, Kay Blevins of NC, Carole Atkins of NC, Frances Langley of MD, and Ola Perdue of Dublin.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with burial following in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.
