His military service was recognized with the National Defense Service Medal, the M16 qualification, the Good Conduct Medal, and the Drivers Badge. His service reflected the deep sense of duty and patriotism that remained with him throughout his life.

Outside of work and service, Larry found joy in the simple and meaningful things that made life rich. He loved gardening and took pleasure in watching things grow. He enjoyed collecting guns, hunting, and fishing, and he appreciated the peace and beauty of the outdoors. He loved the beach and treasured time spent with family above all else.
