Larry Raymont "Hoecake" Williams, 69, of Hoges Chapel, Pembroke, departed this life Tuesday morning, April 17, 2012 at Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg after a long illness. Born in Giles County, he was a son of the late Walter Miller and Lelia Stevers Williams. He had been employed with the National Gypsum Co. at the limestone mines at Goldbond. He was preceded in death by his companion of many years Mary Burleson.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his children Larry James "Shorty" and Stephanie Williams of Floyd, Lisa W. and Herman Stout of Christiansburg, and Barbara Williams of Christiansburg; his grandchildren William Stout, Ryleigh Williams, and Skyler Williams; his step-children David and Donna Burleson of Pembroke, Roger and Sonja Hodge of Radford, Sussie and Randy Moore of Dublin, Russell Burleson of Christiansburg, and Harley and Joan Burleson of Pembroke.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 7:00 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke. The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours before the funeral services.
