Lewis Hines Whittaker, 93, of Up The Hollow Road at Eggleston went to be with the Lord from the care of Giles Memorial Hospital; Friday evening July 22, 2005. Born in Pulaski County on August 30, 1911 he was a son of the late Benton Preston and Elizabeth Sands Whittaker. He had been employed with the Giles County School Board, as a painter in private work, and his life-long love of working the land on his farm and a lot of that with horse and mule power. He was a devout Christian and member of the Green Valley United Methodist Church. A brother, Preston Whittaker, preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of almost forty years, Kathleen Stevers Whittaker; a son and daughter-in-law Kent and Beverly Morris of Trigg and a host of cousins, friends and relatives.

A memorial service will be conducted Monday July 25th at 7:00 PM in the Green Valley United Methodist Church with his pastor, The Rev. Betty Roberts and Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. The family will receive friends at the church immediately after the services. Funeral arrangements are with the Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke.
