Lois Young, 74, of Pembroke departed this life Sunday evening April 1, 2007 at Pulaski Community Hospital in Pulaski. Born in Pembroke on June 30, 1932 she was a daughter of the late Togo and Violet Niece Young. She was the beloved matriarch of her family who all called her "Granny". She was preceded in death by a brother Jay Young and two sisters Corena Griggs and Margaret Ann Snider.

She leaves to cherish her memory a sister Gladys Hilton of Pembroke; two brothers Johnny Young of Pembroke and R. H. "Buck" Young and his wife Dorothy of Pembroke; a sister-in-law Rita Dowdy Young of Pembroke; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 AM in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with burial in the Fillinger Cemetery nearby.
