Lorraine Nancy Dean, 72 of Hendrickson Road in Pembroke died Monday evening November 22, 2004 at Montgomery Regional Hospital in Blacksburg. Born on October 11, 1932 in Nashua, New Hampshire she was a daughter of the late J. Henry and Alma Noel Vallincourt. She was retired from VPI &SU and was preceded in death by three children Donald Valcourt, Linda Briand, and Glenn Valcourt.

She is survived by her husband Charles Dean; two sons and daughters-in-law Scott and Brenda Dean of Pearisburg, Brian and Joy Dean of Pembroke; three daughters and sons-in-law Judy Valcourt of Kileen, TX, Dee and R B Hendrickson of Pembroke, Carrie and Mike Thornhill of Pearisburg; a son-in-law and his wife Mike and Kathy Briand of Hudson, NH; six grandchildren Jason, Jared, Daniel, Kayla, Ashley, Camber; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke. Services will be private and in keeping with Mrs. Dean's wishes her body will be cremated.
