Lucy Gay Seymour, 95, of Eggleston departed this life Monday morning October 15, 2007 at Giles Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg. Born in Eggleston on August 27, 1912, she was a daughter of the late William Hoge and Laura Alice Yonts Johnston. Lucy was an elementary school teacher having taught in both public and military schools, was a member of Eggleston United Methodist Church, a member of Pearis Chapter Order of The Eastern Star, and Eggleston Ruritan Club. She was preceded in death by her sister Mamie.

She leaves to cherish her memory her caregiver Alice Hudson and her family of Pembroke, several cousins and relatives, the Eggleston Community, and her friends and caregivers at Country View Assisted Living in Peterstown, WV.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 PM in The Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with burial following in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. Visitation hours will be Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM. Online condolences may be sent by visiting kendallfuneralhome.com.
