Lula K.Wilson, 94, of Pembroke departed this life Sunday evening August 24, 2008 at Riverview Nursing Home in Rich Creek. Born in Smyth County on November 6, 1913 she was a daughter of the late James and Dina Frye Prater. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert Thomas Wilson, her son Robert D. Wilson, her daughter Nancy W. Reed, her brothers Lamuel, James, Cecil, and Melvin Prater; her sisters Evelyn Prater, Willie Ward, Maude Atwood, Lillian Lewis, Exie Nutter, and Maxie Frye.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter and son-in-law Ella Jean and Glen Athey of Pembroke; her daughter-in-law Peggy Wilson of Pembroke; her son-in-law Gary Reed of Pembroke; her nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 8:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke. Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday morning at 11:00 AM in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM.
