Margaret Jeanette Kanode, 88, of Abbey Court, Dublin, departed this life Wednesday evening, January 6, 2016 at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem. Born in Giles County on March 18, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Henry Buchanan and Lula Bell Carper Gusler. She had been employed at both Pulaski Furniture and Coleman Furniture Co. in Pulaski. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband French Miles Kanode, her daughter Brenda Best, and her granddaughter Kristi Rita Kanode.

Margaret leaves to cherish her memory her son and daughter-in-law French David Sr. and Gale Kanode of Eggleston; her daughters Lucille Sayers of Dublin and Linda Horton of Pulaski; her 14 grandchildren and her 10 great-grandchildren, her brother and sister-in-law Carl and Viola Gusler of Newport.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow Street in Pembroke. Burial will follow in Wilburn Valley in the Carper-Johnston Family Cemetery.
