Margaret Elizabeth "Cricket" Lucas, 81, of Pearisburg, departed this life Sunday evening, November 27, 2011, at Dove House Hospice Center in Westminster, Maryland. Born in Falls Mills, VA on November 4, 1930, she was a daughter of the late William Earl and Lydia Davidson Johnson. For over thirty years she was employed in the health care field as a CNA at Riverview Nursing Home in Rich Creek, and professed her Christian Faith as a member of Ingram Village United Methodist Church in Pearisburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carroll McDonald Lucas, her two grandchildren Jason Allen Lucas and Amanda Ellen Lucas and her sister Audrey Martin.

She leaves to cherish her memory her sons and daughters-in-law Thomas Earl and Jan Lucas of Sykesville, MD, Jeffrey Allen and Allison Lucas of Oakdale, CA; her grandchildren Courtney Lucas, Mitchell Lucas and his wife Keira, Thomas Lucas and Caitlin Lucas; her brothers James I Johnson, Charles Robert Johnson, and Donald R. Johnson all of Pearisburg; Her sister Ada Lee French of Pearisburg; her half-brothers Jerry Johnson, William H. Johnson, and Earl Johnson all of Pearisburg; her half-sister Earthel Sue Middleton of Pearisburg; her step-mother Ethel M. Johnson of Pearisburg; her step-sister Mary Lee Jones of Thaxton, and several beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with burial following in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.
