Margaret Virginia Rice, 79, of Rich Creek and formerly of Pembroke departed this life Wednesday evening December 28, 2005 at Giles Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg. Born in Bland County on September 17, 1926 she was a daughter of the late William Clarence and Hazel Lambert King. Margaret was of the Holiness Faith and was preceded in death by her husband Frank M. Rice and a son Jimmie Rice.

She leaves to cherish her memory two sons Stevie Rice of Pembroke and Ronnie Rice of Rich Creek; two daughters Elizabeth (Sissie) Rice of Rich Creek and Doris R. Austin of Pearisburg; ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters Mary Helen Smith and Betty Jean Keith both of Bluefield.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke with burial following in the McClaugherty Cemetery in the Clendennin Community near Narrows. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6 to 8 PM.
