Margie Lee Sarver Scott, 96, of Shady Grove Lane, Newport, departed this life Sunday morning, January 16, 2011 at her home. Born in Newport on December 19, 1914, she was a daughter of the late George Henderson and Ether Mae Tabor Sarver. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Newport. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Everett H. Scott, her sisters Fannie Farrar, Louise Willard, Hattie Gillespie, and Lola Kirk, and her brothers Clarence Sarver, Lacy Sarver.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters Annalee Rebecca Light of Danville, VA and Phyllis Nadine Taylor of Elk Creek, VA; her eight grandchildren, her seven great-grandchildren; and her one great-great-grandchild; and her brother Walter Sarver of Bedford, VA.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00; pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with Roger Henderson and Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Christiansburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm before the services.
