Martha Parker Brooks, 77, of Riverdale Road in Roanoke, departed this life Sunday morning, September 11, 2011 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born in Giles County on May 19, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Sherman Elmer and Nora Victoria Mayo Parker. She was preceded in death by her sons Stuart William Hamblin and Rodney Lee Hamblin, her sisters Wanda Martin, Ruth Perdue, Gladys Wilson, Cora Lee Martin and her brother Elmer Parker.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Victoria Hamblin Fuller of Goodview, VA; her sons Charles Wayne Hamblin of Roanoke and Keith Mullins of Christiansburg; her sister Hazel P. Clyburn of Moundsville, WV; her twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow Street, Pembroke with burial following in the Hamblin Cemetery at Bear Spring, Giles County.
