Martie Wickline

Martie Ellen Wickline, 79, of Pearisburg, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on March 6, 2026.Born on November 23, 1946, Martie was the daughter of the late James (Jim) and Edith Johnston.Martie was a devoted woman of God whose faith guided every part of her life.

She was a dedicated member of Deep River Chapel, where she was known as a faithful prayer warrior and a source of encouragement to all. Martie also enjoyed watching sports and could often be found cheering on her favorite teams.Martie is survived by her son, Doug Wickline (Xenia); her special nephew whom she lovingly became a mother to, James Johnston (Mary); her grandchildren, José Wickline and Easton Johnston; her brother-in-law, John Meredith; special cousins Mary Ann Siroky, along with her children Lisa and Robie, and Elsie Morris; and her beloved friend, Angel Elliot; as well as many other cherished family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Judy Meredith; brother, James (Jimmy) Johnston Jr ; sister in law, Betty Johnston; nephews Greg and Johnny Meredith; and niece Tammy Meredith.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Carilion Home Health, especially Martie’s nurse, Erin, for the compassionate care and support they provided. The family also extends their sincere thanks to the staff at Carilion Giles Community Hospital for their kindness and care.
