Marvin Miller Martin, Sr., 82, formerly of Pembroke, died Monday November 13, 2006 from injuries suffered in a truck accident in Durham, NC. Born in Pembroke on April 16, 1924 he was a son of the late James Herman and Myrtle Price Martin. Marvin was a veteran of the U S Army in WW II and had worked as an engineer for Bata Shoe Co in Belcamp, MD and in Halifax, NC. He was preceded in death by a son Daniel Neil Martin, Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Mildred Flinchum Martin; a son and daughter-in-law Marvin Martin, Jr.(Mick) and Patsy of Efland, NC; four grandchildren Daniel Neil Martin, Jr., Richard Jason Martin, Jennifer Melissa Martin, and Kyle Joseph Martin; a daughter-in-law Terri P. Martin of Efland, NC; and a sister Grace Martin Lambert of Aberdeen, MD.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, November 17, 2006 at 11:00 AM in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with burial following in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Christiansburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6 to 8 PM.
