Mary Sue Huffman, 70, of Sunny Ridge, Pearisburg, departed this life Friday morning, January 15, 2016, at Lewis-Gale Medical Center in Salem after a long illness. Born in Giles County on September 15, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Roy W. and Gertrude Snider Merrix. She was preceded in death by an infant son, and her sisters Martha Carbaugh and Christine Brown.

She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of almost 50 years (married Oct. 22, 1966) Oscar Alvin "Sammy" Huffman; her sister Marie M. Fletcher of Pearisburg; her brother and sister-in-law Billy and Hazel Merrix of Huntersville, NC and several beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke. Burial will follow in the Williams Cemetery in Craig County.
