Mary Preston Martin Williams, 92, of Wheatland Hills, Christiansburg, and formerly of Pembroke, passed away on November 24, 2010. She was born in Pembroke on August 4, 1918, to the late John Frank and Clora Gay Cruise Martin. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Ray Williams, son Maurice Lee Williams and two infant children Gerald Wayne and Patsy Ann. Also preceding her in death were sisters Ruth Williams, Christine Martin and Lois Eaton; brothers John Martin and Earl Martin; and great-grandson, Mason James Rayburn. A beloved homemaker, mother and grandmother and life-long member of the Pembroke Christian Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Jill W. Kormendy of Christiansburg; granddaughters Kimberly D. Smith of Blacksburg, Lara Smith Rayburn (David) of Richmond, Sharon Williams of Vinton, Diane Paridis of Covington and Debbie Shifflett of Verona; sisters Peggy Robertson (Doby) of Salem and Sue Golden of Pembroke; brother Donald Martin (Madeline) of Rich Creek; great-grandchildren Brandon Smith, Carter and Campbell Rayburn, Ashley and Kayla Simmons, Eddie and Brittany Williams and Mary and Kimberly Paridis; great-great-grandson Aiden Seawell; and special friend Douglas Wright.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 27, 2010, 2:00 at Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St, Pembroke with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the services from 1 until 2 PM.
