Mary Dell Thacker Stevers, 94 of Hoges Chapel went to be with her heavenly father April 24th, 2022 at Brookdale Browns Creek Assisted Living Facility in Maryville, Tennessee. She was born in Hoges Chapel on September 24th 1927, and was the daughter of Frank and Agnes Croy.
In addition to her Mother and Father she was proceeded in death by her husband Fredrick Donald Thacker, Lindsey M. Stevers. Her Brothers Kermit L. Croy, Alvin Q. Croy, Sister Martha Virginia Myers.
Mary was a lifelong member of Mt. Lebanon Methodist Church Hoges Chapel. Mary graduated from Pembroke High School, and went to work at the Celco Plant in Narrows, where she worked as a Beaming and Twisting operator for 30 yrs. before going into retirement. She loved attending Church and singing in the choir, Gardening and growing her flowers. She loved her big vegetable garden and canned most everything she grew. Later in her life her passion was talking to her special. (Hoges Store Girls) and reminiscing of the "Olden Times". Also Mary Loved helping the Veterans, always attending activities at Veterans Memorial park in Narrows. And Loved helping pack care boxes for the Deployed service members overseas. One of her biggest joys in life was caring for her grandchildren, all of whom called her "Big Nanna".
She is survived by her son Freddie "Lee" and wife Marcia Lee of Townsend Tennessee, two Grandsons, Joshua and his wife Jennifer, and their two daughters Gracelyn and Ella of Billings Montana, and Alexander and his son Xander of Christiansburg Virginia.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Monday, May 2, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Mount Lebanon United Methodist Church in Hoges Chapel with Pastor Reggie Britts officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to be made to The Veterans Memorial Park in care of Darlene Blankenship (443 Skyview Lane Narrows, VA 24124).
