MARY SUE TURNER, 88, of Rich Creek, born Mary Sue Caldwell on April 10, 1928 in Narrows, went to be with the Lord on January 21, 2017 in Rich Creek. She carried her faith proudly, never taking a backward step from her beliefs, loyal to her God and the scriptures through to the end. She is survived by her son, Paul E Hale of Pearisburg, her sister Lucretia Gail Caldwell Thompson of Sophia, WV, three grandchildren Travis Lee Hale of Big Stone Gap, Kristi Rene Gordon of Bear Springs and Ashley Nicole Speed of Radford, eight great-grandchildren, Sydney Hale, Brody Hale and Zoey Hale of Big Stone Gap, and Kayleigh Gordon, Keegan Gordon, Carson Gordon, Levi Gordon and Liam Gordon of Bear Springs and nieces and nephews, Edward E Caldwell of Roanoke, Curtis W Caldwell of Pembroke, Judy Farley of Crab Orchard, WV, Debbie Hutcheson of Coweta, Ok and Michael Thompson of Scarbro, WV. She was a long time employee of the Celanese Corp in Pearisburg and Firestone Tire Company in Gastonia, NC.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 11:00 am in the North Narrows Tabernacle, where she was a faithful member, with Pastor Paul Terry officiating and Pastor Eddie Kendall. The family will receive friends at the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke Monday evening from 6 until 8 pm. Burial will follow the services in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.
