Matthew Bryant Sr., a man whose life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to his family, passed away suddenly on October 4, 2026, just one day shy of his 70th birthday. Born on October 5, 1956, in North Carolina, Matthew's journey was one marked by resilience, warmth, and an indomitable spirit that touched the lives of all who knew him.
Matthew was the cherished son of the late Cora Elizabeth Bryant and Joe Ray Bryant. He was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Mark Joseph Bryant; his mother, Cora; his dear daughter, Cora Lee Bryant; and his loving wife, Della Bryant, with whom he shared a beautiful life filled with cherished memories.
He is survived by his father Joe Bryant and stepmother Mary Bryant, his devoted children, Crystal Bryant, Tarah Bryant, and Matthew Bryant, who will forever hold dear the lessons and love their father imparted. His sisters, Beth Bryant and Joyce Bryant, continue to be a testament to the close-knit family bonds that Matthew valued so deeply. His legacy lives on in his eight grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life, and in the numerous nieces, nephews, and his bonus son, Joseph Hale, who all felt the warmth of his good heart and generous spirit.
Matthew was a man of many talents—a gifted mechanic, electrician, and plumber. His skills were matched only by his intelligence and the ease with which he handled life's challenges. Known for his good heart and infectious humor, Matthew had a remarkable ability to bring laughter to any room, never letting the weight of the world dampen his spirit. His presence was a beacon of light and comfort to his family and friends.
A private funeral service will be held on November 14, 2026, where those closest to him will gather to celebrate his life and the countless ways he enriched theirs. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Matthew's memory to a charity of choice or a cause that was dear to his heart, reflecting his lifelong commitment to helping others and making the world a better place. Matthew Bryant Sr. will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his extraordinary talents, and the joy he brought to everyone he met. His laughter, wisdom, and love will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew him, ensuring that his legacy endures for generations to come.
