Matthew Jack "Jackie" Dalton, Jr.,58,of Radford, departed this life Tuesday November 9, 2011 at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center at Radford. Born in Pearisburg on November 16, 1952, he was a son of Matthew Jack Dalton, Sr. of Goldbond and the late Bertie St. Clair Dalton and step-son of Lola Faye Dalton of Goldbond.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children, "Willie" William Jack Dalton and Anna Byrd of Radford, Angela Dalton and Scott Altizer of Radford, Shannon Dalton and Kassie Sheppard of Riner, Travis Woogen of Bristol, VA, Amanda and Troy Taylor of St Robert, MO, and Pfc. Matthew Dalton, III of Ft Benning, GA; his grandchildren Jacob and Hannah Dalton who were special to him and always around him, Alexxus Young, Sierra, Zachary, and Skler Altizer; his brothers and sisters William Dean Dalton of Pearisburg, Melvin Kenneth Dalton of Pearisburg, Edward Sanders Dalton of Pearisburg, Leroy and Carol Dalton of Pembroke, Edward Sanders and Ellen Harris of Pembroke, Frances and Deannie Collins of Pembroke; His step-sisters and brothers Rebecca and Stephanie Smith of Blacksburg, Mason Dennis of Pembroke, Thomas Smith of Blacksburg; his twenty-two nieces and nephews; and his special friend Gale "Weesie" Taylor.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1:00 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with burial following in Angels Rest Memory Gardens in Narrows. The family will receive friends Saturday for two hours before the services. In lieu of flowers the family requests that funeral contributions be made in Jack's memory to Kendall Funeral Home, P O Box 38, Pembroke, VA 24136.
