May Lavon Kast, 88, of Ripplemead, departed this life Saturday morning, October 13, 2018 at Bluefield Community Hospital in Bluefield, WV. Born in War, WV on February 5, 1930 she was a daughter of the late Albert and Sarah Markum Carter. A beloved mother, grandmother, wife and homemaker, she was preceded in death by her paremts, her husband Luther H Kast, her brother Winfred Carter, and her sisters Audrey Reed and Barbara Shapiro.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter and son-in-law Mildred and Edward Christensen of Princeton, WV; her son Calvin Benny Kast of Alexander, AK; her grandsons Bryan Kast, Kelly Kast, Jason Christensen, Daren Christensen; her two great grandchildren; and her sister Justine C Stott of Schenectady, NY.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 1:00 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke, VA with burial following in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.
