Melissa Dawn Lucas, 28, of Shute Hollow at Narrows, Va died early Monday morning July 4, 2005 at her home after a long illness. Born in Montgomery Co on February 18, 1977 she is the daughter of Judy Lucas Lindsey of Pearisburg. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Thelma and Roscoe Lucas and a brother Christopher Lucas.

She leaves to cherish her memory her mother Judy Lucas Lindsey of Pearisburg; a daughter Breaunna Rene Lucas of Narrows, her brother and sister-in-law Charles and Tonya Lucas of Pembroke, her boyfriend and devoted caregiver Andy Keffer; a special friend Staci Messinger Carey of Springfield; her special aunts who were like sisters Darlene Lucas of Ripplemead, Rita Moye of Pearisburg, Becky Proco of Christiansburg, and Betty Harvey of Newport.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke with burial following in Angels Rest Memory Gardens in Narrows. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday two hours before the services.
