Melissa Jane Neice, 75, of Newport and formerly of Baltimore, MD and Goldbond, departed this life Wednesday morning, May 15, 2013 at Heritage Hall Health Care in Blacksburg after a long illness. Born in Giles County on September 17, 1937 she was a daughter of the late Carl Blevins and Hazel Stevers Neice. She had been employed as a CNA and Insurance Agent in Baltimore. She was preceded in death by her husband William Roy Neice and a son Douglas Neice.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son and daughter-in-law Billy Wayne and Diane Neice of Baltimore, MD; her daughters and sons-in-law Janet and Kyle Robertson of Newport, Mellissa and Melvin VanSkiver of Baltimore, MD, Kathy and Ernest Hill of Baltimore, MD; her fourteen grandchildren, her thirty-five great-grandchildren, and her one great-great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 pm in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. In honor of Jane's request there will be no public visitation. The Kendall Funeral Home of Pembroke is in charge of the arrangements. Online condolences may be sent by visiting kendallfuneralhome.com.
