Melvin Lowe Merrix, 85 of Pembroke, VA departed this life June 11, 2023 in the care of his family.  Born in Giles County on April 30, 1938 he was a son of the late Okie Lee Merrix and Lelia Hilton Merrix.

Melvin enjoyed life, particularly stripping copper, listening to Bluegrass Music, and watching jets fly by.

In addition to his parents, Melvin is preceded in death by his sister, Eloise Cahill.

Left to cherish his memory to their hearts are a brother, Curtis Merrix of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
