Mervin Haven Martin, 69, of Staples St. in Radford died Monday January 10, 2005 at New River Valley Medical Center. Born in Giles County on February 25, 1935 he was a son of the late Charlie and Bertha Brumfield Martin. He had been employed at the foundry in Radford and at Pulaski Furniture Co. He was preceded in death by his wife Sally Lilly Martin; two sons Elliott and Carl Martin; three sisters Beatrice Amos, Dorothy Dean, Thelma Lucas; and one brother Roy Martin.

He leaves to cherish his memory three sons Alfonso Martin and his wife Lisa of Dublin, Henry Martin of San Antonio, Texas, Albert Martin and his wife Sue of Newbern; a daughter Marsena Smith and her husband Frankie of Pearisburg; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 PM in The Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with Pastor Don Sizemore and Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in the Pentecostal Holiness Virginia Conference Cemetery at Dublin. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6 to 8 PM.
