Mildred Lois Martin, 79, of Durham, NC and formerly of Montgomery Co. departed this life Tuesday evening, March 18, 2014 in the care of Hock Family Pavilion in Durham. Born in Montgomery Co. on September 26, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Hettie Burke Flinchum. She was retired from the credit department at Duke Hospital. A woman of faith, Mildred was a member of First Assembly of God in Durham. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Marvin Martin, Sr., her son Daniel Neil Martin, Sr. and one brother and several sisters.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son and daughter-in-law Marvin Jr. "Mickey" and Patsy Martin of Esland, NC; her grandchildren Daniel Jr. and Lori Martin of Athens, AL, Richard Martin of Greensboro, NC, Jennifer and Chris Davis of Esland, NC and Kyle Martin of Esland, NC.; her great-grandchildren Hailey Davis, Emma Martin, Braxton Davis, Jacob Martin; and her sister Nora Sue Delancey of Tampa-St Pete, FL.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens at Christiansburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the services.
