Minnie Lucille Martin, 75, of Newport, died Wednesday evening August 10, 2005 at her home in the loving care of her family. Born in Giles County on July 27, 1930 she was a daughter of the late Isaac Edward and Mary Margaret Johnson Conley. She had been employed in the deli department at Wal-Mart in Christiansburg. She was preceded in death by three brothers Houston, Ed, and Albert and five sisters Ettie, Estelle, Margaret, Nancy Belle, and Frances and her husbands Carroll Perkins, Paul Cumbee, and Arthur P. Martin.

She leaves to cherish her memory a son Robert Cumbee of Maybrook; six daughters and sons-in-law Carolyn and Jerry Woodson of Lynchburg, Mary Helen and Roger Griggs of Pearisburg, Brenda and Gary Martin of Newport, Sandra Smith of Newport, Hazel Cumbe of Hoges Chapel, Doris and Kenny May of Pearisburg; eighteen grandchildren, twenty seven great-grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law Debbie Cumbee a sister Janie Habbernigg of Norwalk, Ohio; two brothers and sisters-in-law Buddy and Judy Conley of Pearisburg, Robert and Rosie Conley of Pearisburg; a sister-in-law Bea Conley of Pearisburg; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with burial following at Sunset Cemetery in Christiansburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6 to 8 PM.
