Myron Payne Cruise, 51, of Lucas Road, Newport, departed this life Monday morning, January 31, 2011 at Lewis-Gale Montgomery Regional Hospital in Blacksburg. Born in Pearisburg on March 15, 1959, he was a son of Virginia Whittaker Cruise and the late Albert Payne Cruise. He was a graduate of Giles High School and was employed with Volvo in Dublin. He was preceded in death by his father and his brother Robin Cruise.

Myron leaves to cherish his memory his wife Susan Gaither Cruise of Newport; his mother Virginia Whittaker Cruise of Newport; his maternal grandmother Dessie H. Whittaker of Newport; his son Edward Slaubaugh and wife Melissa of Parsons, WV; his daughters and sons-in-law Amber C. and John Thompson of Pearisburg, Darinda and Neil Mersing of Aurora, WV, Ashley C. and James McGuire of Pearisburg, and Sally Slaubaugh of Newport; and his nine grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, at 2:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with burial following in the Lucas Family Cemetery at Newport.
