Nancy Wilson Reed, 60, of Orchard Road in Pembroke departed this life Friday afternoon at Roanoke Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Born in Smyth County, VA on February 3, 1947 she was a daughter of Lula Prater Wilson of Pembroke and the late Robert Thomas Wilson. She had been employed as a clerk in the Town Office at Pembroke and at the Pembroke Library and was a member of the 1965 Spartan Class at Giles High School. Nancy was preceded in death by her father, a brother Bobby Wilson and her father-in-law Paul Reed, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, her husband Gary R. Reed; her daughter and son-in-law Hope and Wes Skeens of Pembroke; a sister and brother-in-law Jean and Glen Athey of Pembroke; her mother-in-law Angela W. Reed, three sisters-in-law Teressa Reed, Peggy Wilson, and Mary Reed all of Pembroke; her best friend Kathy Fields of Pembroke and "Bootie" Ann Fields.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday evening at 7:00 PM in The Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with Pastor Shahn Wilburn and Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at Birchlawn Burial Park Monday at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 5 to 7 PM before the services.
